the other day my friend dandan and i went on an adventure to botany to visit the leather warehouse for supplies. we decided about halfway there that we might as well go to botany bay cause he hadn't been there before and we wanted to sit and think about the first fleet. not that we could even remember how many ships there were (eleven).
at one point during the long walk down botany road, we were waiting at the lights when a van stopped beside us. in the passenger seat was a girl of about nine with her hands up on the sill and a big grin on her face. she glared at us and announced: 'ar! ar!' in a perfect terrier yelp.
dan said he would have been happy to walk away, allowing that moment to exist, but i'm not as cool as he is. i lost it. laughed so hard i ended up sitting on the floor at the lights with tears streaming down my face, unable to see. i want to find this girl and tell her she's a genius of the order of john waters. she acheived kitsch without any cultural reference points, which is almost impossible.
other stuff that's been happening... writing exercises to unlock my creative potential (it's not working... i think these few months are more about distribution than production), swimming every day, going on lots of adventures in an effort to like sydney, and spending far too much time on the internet. i turned 28 last friday. it was fairly unstressful, which makes for a nice change, but then i've been feeling 28 for the last few months. since saturn hit leo in fact.
learning how to be an astrologer is interesting. i think i need to talk to a practicing professional, not that i want to do this for a living, cause then i'd have to admit what a fucking hippy i secretly am. no, it's just a little hard to believe, even when my chart suits me to a T. then again, it's a little hard to have faith in anything at the moment. probably cause the moon's in opposition to neptune.
there is, however, no explanation for barking girl.
